Hans Zimmer is Game for Call of Duty

I am actually very excited to hear the news that Hans Zimmer will be writing the music for Modern Warfare 2. If you have seen any action movies or 'big hit' movies, you have probably heard Mr. Zimmer's music whether you realize it or not. Read below for the official article and for a list of some of Hans' previous movies:

Oscar winner Hans Zimmer is writing music for his first video game-only project, scoring the soundtrack for "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2," one of the year's most anticipated releases.

The sequel to the first-person action best-seller "Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare" comes from Activision Blizzard's Infinity Ward studio and hits stores Nov. 10.

Zimmer's Gorfaine/Schwartz Agency confirmed the project.

Zimmer's film resume includes "The Dark Knight," "Pirates of the Caribbean," "Gladiator," "Rain Man" and "Driving Miss Daisy." He won an Oscar in 1995 for "The Lion King." Upcoming movie work includes "Sherlock Holmes" and "Inception."

This is definitely a great addition for MW2! Music plays a huge role in games, and with Hans Zimmer's ability at the helm, it should be great. Now, if Activision would just put the PC price at $49.99, I would consider buying the game. Until then, nice news, enjoy for those still getting the game.

You forget Black Hawk Down, that is the best piece of music he has ever created.

This is good news. Then again, it's also bad news. He is a movie score producer, not close to the gaming industry's musical talent.

I hope he doesn't make over-dramatic scores that don't compliment the game.

Dont worry, i heard some of his musics IN-GAME and it is much like the previous score by Harry Gregson-Williams.

Note that He and Gregson-Williams grew-up together in composing as they are friends and worked in the same studio for a long time.
