    MW2 - First View of Spec-Ops In-Game Menu

Fourzerotwo, IW's Community Manager, posted up a pic on his twitter that gives the world the first view of the Spec-Ops menu for MW2. The overall menu seems to resemble CoD4's feel, not a whole lot there, but for those interested in the new upcoming mode, Spec-Ops, this gives you an idea of what you will be able to do with it.

Do you anticipate playing the Spec-Ops mode a lot? Or will it just be something to mess with a few times? Many underestimated how popular Nazi Zombies for CoD:WaW would be, but it has proven many quite wrong. Will Spec-Ops have the same addiction and following as Nazi Zombies?

I love how they spun a negative into a positive.
          Wonder how that meeting went?

          (diddly-do diddly-do diddly-do)
          Guy 1"Okay guys, bad news."

Guy 2"What happened? Did the artillery keep hitting the side of the map again?"

          Guy 1"No, that's fixed..."

Guy 3"Oh, awesome. So what happened?"

Guy 1"That whole four-player cooperative mode our bastard stepchild, TreyArch, got working fairly well... We can't do it. I don't know what happened! We're so much better than them. I mean look at all of the praise we've gotten. We're Gods! But when person number four comes in, the data output is too much for the host and the frame rate drops (or some other crap)."

Guy 2"Well, I guess four player is out. You can't just go with three, either. Three people is just weird. Who wants to be a third-wheel? It just sounds bad."

Guy 3"Guys, I've got it. We just tell everyone that we planned it like this. We only WANT 2 people to play. Improves morale or some other such. You know they believe whatever we tell them."

Guy 2"Yeah, look at how well they handled an arbitrary price increase and the lack of a beta and the alienation of a large percentage of our target market via an exclusive map pack deal with Microsoft. They'll swallow any turd we shove at them!"

          Guy 3"I know. Genius!"

Guy 1"Okay, I guess it's settled. I'll let the guys know to quit trying to get the fourth person shoehorned into the match."

Haha, that's pretty close to what I thought the moment I heard 402 trying to justify 2-player coop.

                I. Don't.

When it's done please, no rushing it out and shelving crap which I fear is coming closer and closer to a reality.

I don't own an xbox, but isn't there features to play next to each other and be in split screen?

Perhaps they are making it so that two could play like that?

Oh, they don't like supporting split screen gaming anymore. Here's why:

                    Split Screen:
                    4 players
                    1 copy of game
                    1 Xbox 360
                    1 Xbox Live account

                    No Split Screen:
                    4 players
                    4 copies of game
                    4 Xbox 360s
                    4 Xbox Live accounts

                    You do the math.
Which is better for players, and plays to the supposed strengths of consoles? Split screen obviously. Which makes mo' munnies, though?

They really need to get a clue. There are many reasons the Wii is slapping the other consoles all over the place in sales. This is one of them. With the Wii, you get a group of people over and everyone gets to play. With the Xbox 360 and PS3, each person is sitting in their own home with their own gear. There is no real human interaction. And that used to be one of their big arguments against the PC. Ever read Animal Farm?
