Gamestop has announced their newest pre-order incentive for Battlefield: Bad Company 2. Early access to the AK-74U weapon. Check it out:

Here are some of the details on the AK-74U:

* Faster rate of fire than the original AK-74, up to 735 rounds/min
* A lighter varient, classified between a submachine gun and assault rifle
* More maneuverable in close combat than its predecessor, the orignal AK-74
* The weapon is mainly used by special forces and airborne infantry

So given that the model has a big honking silencer on it, are we to assume that the weapon will act as a silenced weapon in-game? I'm kicking myself for preordering BF2142 from GameStop instead of Best Buy which would have given the cooler-looking SCAR-11 skin (instead of a free unlock like GameStop...40 points w00t! ) so I don't want to make that mistake again.

It'll probably either be like 2142 where you get an early unlock or they'll give it away for free eventually.

Though I do hope that they have the AK74 Ingame however. because of the stalker games I am now favoured towards the -74.
