I'm not holding too much hope for this game after they ruined BF1943.

Yea, they ruined the game that is one of the top MP games on XBL live right now.

Call of Duty 4 had the MP40 available in multiplayer, I don't remember anyone complaining about how it ruined the realism.

A few WW2 guns aren't going to ruin or unbalance the game.

I still wonder what purpose they had in giving the AK-47 to the PLA forces in BF2. Shouldn't it have been the assault version of the QBZ-95? You might say it's because they lacked the army lacked funding for modern rifles, but then how'd they afford jets and helicopters?

Yeah, the AK-47 should have been given to the Insurgents/Rebels. They already have the QBZ-95/97 carbine and LMG, so it's not like they (both DICE and the PLA) didn't have the resources to make a QBZ rifle.

Probably depends on what division of the army we're looking at. If you're looking at lower reserve divisions, they'll probably have Ak-47s and not high tech-ish rifles.

Wow, this sounds really cool! The thing I missed most when I switched from '42 to BF2 was the engi rifle. Do they have a gun like this in '43? If such a gun exists and makes it's way to BC:2, I'll have to buy that game.

Call of Duty 4 doesn't have MP40.

I believe he meant an MP44.

I hear that they will be putting laser guns in this game too. Maybe some battlewalkers too. Don't think it will be that big of a deal though. I like to have a challenge. :p

I don't see what difference having WW2 weapons in the game will make for those who don't like the idea. If you don't like them, don't use them. More choice of weapons can only be a good thing IMO and I doubt antique weapons will unbalance the game - they are unlikely to be more powerful than modern ones. I always thought that BF2 was missing an iron sights rifle. Ok you have the G3 but I could never bring myself to keep it on single shot and then BAM your mag is empty.

I don't know how any game sells without hunting ferrets, honestly. It's the back bone of every successful modern army.
