I have no idea how, but at the end of the war a lot of WWII weapons went to Africa. I suspect the American's sold them there, they seem to like selling weapons to countries that eventually rise up and nip them in the butt :p

This is laziness, pure and simple. They already have the guns coded for 1943 so instead of adding more new detailed weapons for this game they can rehash what they have already done.

This has nothing to do with BF3, though, this is all about BF1943 and BC2. As much as I would love to have BF3 be WW2-based (despite some forumites threatening to punch babies in the faces :p ) I would be surprised if it was anything other than modern or near-modern warfare. Since both Heroes and BF1943 are WW2, BC2 and BF3 would make sense as modern war.

...Just wish they'd go back to 'Nam at some point. :salute:

I dont mind, but I would be more than happy if bf3 wasnt modern warfare. Vietnam would be awesome but I dont think its gonna be vietnam. Full scale bf1942 on new engine would be *not able to describe it in words*. :yay:

The MEC uses the Ak-101, and the PLA uses ak-47s that were probably not made yesterday. Designed long ago, but definitely not constructed in the 40s...

A comparison between a US army M40 in the 60s and one now shows that it has changed quite a bit.

The one the PLA uses in BF2 is a copy of the ak47, the type 56. Which was produced from the 50's (or still ? (ohno) )
