Battlefield 1943 Weapons to be Featured in Bad Company 2?

Apparently gamers will get to experience some of the same guns used in Battlefield 1943 in the next major BF installment Bad Company 2. This according to a post made over on the official BF1943 Twitter page. Here's what it said:

Think you're a Bad Ass with BF1943 weapons? What if I said you'll be able to use your Semi-Auto Rifle, Sniper Rifle, or SMG in BFBC2!

Why these weapons would be featured in a Bad Company 2? I'm not entirely sure. But it appears they will be. Post up your thoughts on this hinting Tweet made by DICE.

This also means that there going to have to balance these 70 year old weapons with today's latest technology weapons which means that any realism is gone.

Awesome, but we should be able to play as insurgents then since only they use such weapons these days.

I dont mind this. Bf was never realistic. As long as BFBC2 gameplay isnt as dumbed down as bf1943 im fine.

But, I agree thomson for example will be stupid, but rifles like m1 garand are cool imho.

You know what I find funny? on the S.T.A.L.K.E.R forums people are crying over the lack of ww2/post war weapons like the mosin nagant, or the ppsh, or the original AK47 yet on a different game people don't want them.

Meh, a lot of insurgent groups are still using WWII guns. I remember a documentary covering an African guerilla group and one of them had a Bren Gun lol :p

What is this I don't even.

I can understand something BF-veterans style where you get a free unlock or some such for owning BF1943, but to actually port WW2 weapons into a modern combat setting? Really? My guess is they'll have to tone their effectiveness way down, otherwise if they were as good or better than the standard BC2 guns it would give way too much of an advantage to those who have them.

I don't see why everyone is complaining about them being unbalanced. They won't necessarily have the same stats as in 1943, if BC2 was realistic in terms of weapons then it would take more shots to kill due to body armor and better modern rounds available. The Garand, Kar98, and Thompson are not going to be overpowered in a modern day setting. They may be a bit less effective, but it's not going to be a disaster in terms of balance.
