Modern Warfare 2 Prestige Edition Details

Infinity Ward Community Manager FourZeroTwo has posted a new update on his blog which details what the consumer will receive in the "prestige" edition of the game. No joke, it includes night vision goggles. Check out the madness below:
The first look at the Prestige Edition of Modern Warfare 2 is now live on the Official Infinity Ward YouTube page. Retailers should be updating their sites over the course of the next week or so to include the Prestige Edition. If you’ve already pre-ordered the $80 “Collectors” Edition that some retailers have had listed with no details, then you’ve most likely pre-ordered the “Hardened Edition” depending on the retailer. If you’re in question, I’d wait till they update their listings and give them a call or adjust your order accordingly if interested in a different version.

<!--more-->IGN has also posted up some details on what exactly you'll receive for each version of the game, just to clear up any confusion.
First, they revealed there will be a "Harden Edition" that will retail for $80. This edition includes:

    • Modern Warfare 2
    • A tin case
    • A token to download the original Call of Duty
    • An artbook

Here's the breakdown for what the "Prestige Edition" comes with:

    • Modern Warfare 2: Harden Edition (see above)
    • Fully functioning night vision goggles: alternating modes, MW2 branded with a sculpted head stand.

Price of the Prestige Edition was conveniently not revealed, but I confidently predict it will cost over $100.

I would completely agree with IGN, this "prestige" edition may just be breaking the bank for you.

Notice that only the regular retail box has "Call of Duty" on it? Interesting...

        Well I guess its either:

-The special editions were made before the namechange

        or

-IW predicted anyone interested in the special editions would have been following the game since the start.

The Hardened/Prestige Edition case is Badass, like the fact that Call Of duty isnt on there.

Fully Functioning Night Vison goggles... Right.....

What's sad, is there are idiots out there that think the prestige bundle is a deal. If it's under $120.00, I would be shocked.

Here's an idea IW, focus on the game and it's gameplay and not on some cheap azz night vision goggles and a plastic head mold.

I don't see how this special edition is going to get in the way of the game quality. Im pretty sure the Devs are in a different department to marketing.

I am not a fan of Call of Duty but I would buy the prestige edition just for the night vision goggles.

I think low quality night vision stuff starts at around $300. They probably just have green lenses with a light attached or something.

Nah, I got a decent night vision monocular for about $175 at a gun show in 1999. I'm sure you can get a set of goggles for less than that these days. I'm sure they won't be like what I use on the job, but they'll be functional.

I wonder what's cooking in the OneUpsmanship department over at treyarch?

Call of duty 7 Prestige Edition, comes with game, art book and a T-72 Main Battle Tank.

CoD7 apparently ships with one of these:
