More Battlefield 1943 Release Date Rumors

There have been a number of rumors flying around the internet recently about when Battlefield 1943 will be released on console. We know from DICE that it would be released sometime in July but a date has not been announced. The latest rumor is that it will be released on July 8th on the Xbox 360 and July 9th on the PlayStation 3. Here is a magazine ad that shows these dates:

The next rumor is that the game will be released on both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on July 9th. This one was posted by member cris1879 over on the EA UK Forums.

Battlefield 1943: Pacific will be release on July 9th for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Website Gamer.nl received a document from Electronic Arts confirming this release date.

These are of course rumors and there is no sure way to know when the game will be released. In a recent Battlefield Blog posting, however, DICE had said:

We've got big news coming soon, so be sure to check back often for all things Battlefield!

Could this perhaps be an announcement of a release date? Only time will tell. Be sure to check back as more news surfaces around the much anticipated release. So when was the name changed from Battlefield 1943: Pacific to just Battlefield 1943? I'm guessing they will at European maps to this one (for a fee) instead of releasing Battlefield 1943: Europe so people don't have to bounce between games. Glad to see that the console release is so close (damn those console players). I bet if the PC version was released at around the the same time, PC would reach 43 million kills the fastest.
