Turn 10 has been talking about their upcoming title Forza 3 at the E3 games show. Here is what they had to say.
Turn 10's problem is trying to balance the game so it is fun for both the casual pick up and play gamer, but also the realism enthusiast. Their response is to create a number of driving assists that can be turned off on-the-fly as opposed to having to select them before racing.
Forza has also borrowed a trick from Codemaster's GRID books by allowing players to rewind the race 5 seconds and continue racing. There is no limit to how many times the player may do this. The aim is to make sure players can complete the perfect lap and not have to restart after making a mistake.
The graphics engine has been given a work over from Forza 2 with each vehicle containing 4 times the texture resolution as it's predecessor making for extremely detailed models. As well as graphics, the physics engine has been given a good work out and cars are now able to roll like they do in real life when involved in a crash.
Anyway here are a few screenshots to whet your appetite!
We've got this clean look based on the look of a car brochure, we call it car porn. Our goal is to turn gamers into car lovers and car lovers into gamers, to deliver approachable and thrilling gameplay.

Part of our perfectionism is how we capture the cars, we are car freaks, we want to capture that, we want to show these cars off, we want to worship them. Our new graphics engine pushes the 360 in new ways, ways it has never been pushed before.
