Modern Warfare 2 Gameplay (Cam) Footage

Game Trailers has posted up some exclusive footage today showing off the first real gameplay action from Modern Warfare 2. The footage is taken from a handheld camera during a press conference but is plenty effective in showing the new action. Check out all three parts below:

Looks like your SAS player-character's name or nickname in MW2 is "Roach".

That snowmobile chase looks pretty intense...I'm sure some people are gonna catch a tree or two.

MacTavish ftw. I also didn't watch the 2nd or 3rd. It already looks like Game of the Year from that first video to me.

That's the "heartbeat sensor" that was talked about in the Game Informer article. Allows you to know where enemies are in the distance (sort of like UAV) when you can't actually see them. Tom Clancy wrote about them yrs back in his novel "Rainbow Six" (upon which the games were based).

I remember using it in my only Rainbow Six game. I think I had 'Rainbow Six 3: Raven Shield'

Go ahead and watch the 2nd and 3rd videos, they don't give anything away. If you've seen the trailers, you've seen what's in the video pretty much.

I wouldn't say game of the year b/c of that first vid...you're just climbing up a mountain with ice picks, no action really. I imagine it will be game of the year b/c people will buy it and like it b/c they bought/liked CoD4, but that first vid was more boring than the trailers imo.

^ I agree. I don't think MW2's SP by itself could or should deserve a GOTY. If they tweaked the MP to get rid of the major flaws of COD4, made some great maps, and added a few more bells and whistles, then it might be worthy. I'm fully confident it will be solid and fun...but because it has been done before in COD4, it won't be as fresh and impactful without more.

Looks nice, but I still am disappointed we don't get a new engine.

Get used to it, until the new xbox comes out, we'll have the same engine, IW has pretty much tweaked the graphics and everything to the max on 360.
