"Modern Warfare 2...Largest Entertainment Launch Of Any Kind"

In a recent statement given to That VideoGame Blog, an Activision representative is reported to have said that "Modern Warfare 2 will be the largest entertainment launch of any kind." Looking at how large launch parties become lately, it will be interesting to see what the guys at Inifinity Ward have planned. Here is the original article:
During an E3 remarks event moments ago, Activision Blizzard said the November launch of Infinity Ward’s Modern Warfare 2 will be the largest entertainment launch of any kind when it launches this November. Prior to that remark, the company also made clear it will be more aggressive on downloadable content in the future. No details were given but it’s safe to say with the massive success the recent World at War DLC, we can expect those maps to keep rolling in.

Man, they are really hyping this. I know its a big deal and all, but with all this talk its making me wander if the game can stand on its own.

Hype = money. COD4 was a huge hit, so a lot of people, especially those who just started playing COD on that version (particularly Console'ers) will likely be excited by the news. They'll remember all their friends playing COD4, and they'll go for MW2.

It's about IW/ACTV getting as much cash as they can (esp in this crap economy) now, to set up the next game, where we're likely to see more real changes and improvements, IMO.
