PSP Go Leaked Before E3

Today, Sony's E3 press conference lost a major announcement as the PSP Go was leaked by Qore Magazine. Check it out:

According to images grabbed by the Gaming Console Network, PS3's virtual magazine (Qore) made its latest issue available early and revealed the (long-rumored) PSP revision. As rumors and mockups theorized, the PSP Go in the images features no UMD drive and a sliding screen. It also features a single (and poorly positioned) analog stick. Adding fuel to the fire, PlayStation LifeStyle has posted an image it states is of the actual retail packaging for the soon-to-be announced handheld iteration -- and both designs match.

Here is a quick rundown of what this video is telling us: Along with the announcement of PSP Go, we can confirm that LittleBigPlanet, Gran Turismo, and Metal Gear Solid games are in the works for the new system. As stated above, the PSP Go will not be replacing the PSP-3000, but brings new hardware specs as well as smaller dimensions. Bluetooth will be supported, along with a new 16 GB hard drive. The PSP Go can be expected to ship sometime this Fall.

I am intrigued by this, but what the hell are they going to do with all the PSP games already out on UMD?

The old-new PSP (The 3000? It's skinnier than the original model.) looks better to me. Also, the hell? Why's that analog stick there? That's absolutely terrible placement. The download-only format also makes me cringe.

I'm pretty sure this is leading to fail. At least the news isn't all bad. I can still play the games on my PSP-3000 or whatever, so I can look forward to LBP, MGS, and others.

I'm happy with my current handhelds, so both the DSi and the PSP Go can die in a fire, unless they make all new games only work with them. Then, I might care.
