Your Reaction/Opinion of MW2 Post-Full Trailer

There has been quite the mixed reaction across the net about Modern Warfare 2 after the recent full trailer release. Our news post can be found here. Which leads one to wonder, what is the opinion of the majority of gamers concerning MW2?

There are those who are officially on the edge of their seat with anticipation, and those who are somewhat disappointed and not quite as hyped about the game as they were before the release of the trailer. Instead of just jabbering, how about a poll? Vote below with your opinion of MW2 now that you've seen more footage of it in the recent trailer.

I think it will be another great COD game much like COD4, but I doubt it will be that much better than COD4 and WaW. Unless I see some real improvements, I might have to pass this one up, as I already have 2 COD games that seem very similar.

I think it is going to be a solid good game. I just dont think its going to be that much different from 4/5.

What I am hoping is they make it a bit more solid, like 4 with the grittiness and options of 5.

It looks good but i'm starting to grow tired of the same old COD games. I'm looking forward to Operation Flashpoint 2 and Battlefield Bad Company 2 more though. Oh how I miss squadplay.

Another great COD game, right now I'm looking forward to just about anything since there is nothing coming out but ARMAII this summer. (Not counting Heroes)

It's Going to be Another Solid, Great Game

Infinity Ward hasn't failed us yet. And the trailer already seemed to prove that through initial impressions.

My Opinion is Not Yet Decided

My view was that it was just going to be... Literally, MW2. Just CoD4... more. Although this trailer exceeds some expectations (Riot sheild etc), I am still fairly unhyped for the game. And yes, I do admit to being a hype fiend.

Treyarch messed up WAW, I don't know what to expect from Infinity Ward. It should be much better however.

My complaints:

- Rio, having such a large, real city in CoD detracts from the fidelity. I don't think war has erupted in Rio yet.

- Characters don't look believable.

- No return to Chernobyl. Lets face it, these were the best two missions in CoD 4. They had the realism of the real Chernobyl, yet it was a deserted, isolated place so the plot there was quite believable.

- No evidence of the CH-46. Another brilliant addition to the authenticity, it gave CoD 4 that true USMC feel.

Apart from these points, it looks fine. I hope they don't go for Treyarch's balance.

No tanks in hardcore, on console.
Machine guns have 50 bullets maximum, removing the whole idea of having a machine gun.
Taking into consideration the above two game destroying features, they thought it was balanced to allow people to shoot back after they were supposed to be dead, and then be revived.
The game was far too scissors-paper-rock in style (in multiplayer). You had to have either flak jacket or bomb squad to avoid betties, whereas in CoD 4, with a bit of luck you could avoid them.

And Treyarch's support for the PS3 was horrible. Several months after release, and I still can't play on an Australian server because their crappy match-making forces me onto an American server. I've also lost my singleplayer save several times, beaten the game and collected all the death cards several times, and now I can't be bothered to do it all again.

Considering its Infinity Ward however, it should be much better.

IMO from what I have seen (which is very little), It's more of the same which lets face it, isn't a bad thing.. So I'm expecting another good solid game with a few innovations here and there ^_^

You may be speaking in terms of PS3, but as for PC, WaW is WAYYYYYYY more balanced than CoD4. There is no dominate gun and there are enough different perks to counter different things. I even proved how tanks are not overpowered after figuring out how to kill the things by yourself.

I think your other points are pretty good though.

I think the publisher has dropped it. Something about the controversy surrounding the game.
