Forgotten Hope 2 Mod Update - Silent Breakout

The Forgotten Hope 2 mod website was recently updated with their latest news which includes a plane render and some map shots. Here's what they had to say:
Hello and welcome back to another update of Forgotten Hope. Today we have a render of the British Horsa glider and a lot of screenshots from the map Operation Goodwood. First up is the Horsa. It was modeled by Toddel and Lobo and skinned by Toddel.

The Airspeed Horsa was designed in 1940 - a reaction to the Germans' excellent use of gliders during the invasion of the Low Countries and France. Its first flight was in September of 1941, but it wasn't used in an actual operation until more than a year later. The Horsa was one of the largest combat-gliders of world war 2, with a capacity of as many as 25 soldiers (compared to the Waco's 13 and the DFS 230's 9). Nearly 3800 were built.

Next, we have some screenshots of the map 'Operation Goodwood', which was made by Knoffhoff. As usual, you can find the minimap and loading screen in the map section.

Yay! Horsa FTW! What is not shown in that picture is that the Horsa actually flies! I don't know how we will employ the flyable version within FH2, or even if we will spawn it. I am hopeful, that we will put it to use in some fashion at some point.

I will say that it is fun to fly. I am sure at the proper time on the appropriate map. We'll find a way to incorporate it into use.

            Here's what you do:

Have it called in as a vehicle drop. Drop it on the ground. Do some coding magic to let people have 10 seconds to get in, then have it raise its altitude to sky high in an instant.

If you can find a way to transport that vehicle from the ground to the air while preservering the passengers - I'd say it would be a great new way for vehicle drops.

            Glider drops!

Then again, the premise of the idea is replaced with gliding parachutes isn't it?

Actually, there are ways to make it spawn in the air and then allow you to spawn inside it. As it is now.. You can take off like a regular airplane and fly around like a normal airplane.

By my statement, "how we will employ it", I mean in a "realistic" operation. You cannot tow items in BF2, therefore, we can't really launch it like a real glider.

You could just pretend there is a tow plane and load it up like any other aircraft and fly it. Alternatively, you spawn it in at altitude and it holds position until someone spawns in it. It then launches down and you can fly it to the destination.

I have done spawn vehicles before.. It is nothing new. Just some additional coding and it can be done. The problem is, I don't think we want them to be totally airborne spawn points, but then again.. That does raise some interesting possibilities.

Hmm.. That gives me some ideas..

It doesn't has to fly you know.. It can, well I don't know, serve as a static on some operation with a flying horse and a bridge..

Ah what the hell, why am I even asking for Pegasus. Lobo already told us that PEGUSUS WILL BE IN FH2!!!! <running around as a wild groupie at a boy band festival>

Here's a great idea for them that doesn't even require them to fly:

just put it in a map as a spawnable static objects on the ground that can be destroyed. This forces the "landing party" to also defend the gliders.

Remember weapons bunkers on DC? Just make it so you have a few (not many) flags to take. Then make your gliders destroyable spawn points. Have like 4 of them. The brits (or us) defend the gliders - or try to take flags.

But once you are out of gliders - then you best keep the flags or you lose the mission! For glider defense - how about a broken up bomber with live turrets near a couple of the gliders. To help defend the glider - climb into the hallowed out belly of the bomber in ruins.

Also make no uncaps for the enemy. That way either team could be wiped off the map.

I like your ideas, don't get me wrong, but this wont fit in a historical situation, now ofcourse they can make a fantasy map but thats not FH style :p
When you land with the glider you have to leave it as fast as possible, as Jerry spots those big birds quite fast.
From what I know now we will see it on Pegasus as a static. But we never know what we can expect.
