New Modern Warfare 2 Gameplay Footage

Game Trailers has debuted some brand new footage from Modern Warfare 2 today. It includes some clips from the older teaser but also some new stuff like riot shields and people jumping from buildings. Be sure to check back on the 24th to see the full MW2 trailer.

Most likely. It will only have been 2 yrs since COD4 when MW2 comes out. They revamped their old engine a lot between COD2 and COD4...so you'll only see some minor tweaks between COD4 and MW2.

Having watched the vid a couple of times now, it seems to me that the first part with the SWAT team looks noticeably better - smoother edges, better colour - than much of the rest of the vid. I think we're seeing a mix of footage captured earlier when the game was in a rougher state, and newer footage when it has been more polished.

I think the brief new segment of the 1st-person view while riding the snowmobile, where you can see the very round dials/readouts and smooth windshield is another example that looks better than the original snowmobile scenes we saw.

edit: in fact, the old snowmobile footage has been removed from this trailer. Interesting. Maybe IW didn't like the quality of it and pulled it?

The SWAT segment looks on par, or slightly better, than COD4, IMO.

I noticed that too The round objects is enough to keep me happy.. It was the ONLY thing I didn't like about CoD4..

Garandx, I froze it there aswell, I think the mohawk guy was also in the heli scene where three guys are jumping from the roof top? Maybe he's one of the characters we play??

Looks great, but I don't know if it will be different enough to justify spending all that money on a game using the same engine as COD4 and WaW. That is my only concern. I was hoping for a new engine this time around.
