Vietnam would be fun, though I can't exactly see how it would play out in multiplayer if it stayed true to the Call of Duty formula. Could be exciting, but I'm going to be much more wary about purchasing it from Treyarch, who I had trusted yet again with WaW

More news on MW2 JoMaMaz! (ohno)

Where's the logic in that? Unless you're saying that it'd be stupid to release two modern warfare games consecutively.

I don't care what they do so long as it's fun, and partially fresh.

Wait a minute, what? Another CoD game coming out? While another is being created when another one is? Very confusing but whatever:p
I suggest World War 1, atleast see some real footage of it instead of Future, Modern, and WW2 warfare......
And hey, this might be cool if it were WW1!

And why be wary? As far as I'm concerned, CoD:WW had just as many probs as CoD4 did with IW in the beginning, but people forgot that. Now that things are fixed, CoD:WW is a better game imo. I play CoD4 for 5 mins and the nade fest on the small maps along with the SAW spamming through walls and I go what is the point of this crap?

Also, Treyarch's game now has a 2nd map pack coming. IW only did one map pack, not to mention they only had maps, not a diff mode they were creating for aka the zombie mode. And they're not just releasing a new zombie map. Just like with Verruckt, they're improving the mode and adding more features, and changing it up. Treyarch is proving to be 1337 imo, but I know they have the 'bad stigma' tied to their name. BUT, I'd rather not go with the 'crowd' of teenagers who purely like to call one company 'cool' and the other 'lame' without factual evidence being taken into account.

This was not a personal attack on you Defekt. :salute:

^ Defekt may be speaking more from a competitive standpoint. CODWW is great for pub play, but from a lot of what I've read and heard, is probably too flawed to be very successful competitively.

I do agree with you that it was a much better game in regards to the casual/public community. However, coming from a primarily competitive background in Call of Duty 4 I was expecting the same level of detail in maps and a bit more balance, as well as the automatic inclusion of certain features (i.e. /record). I played the game quite a bit when it first came out, but as the competitive community stayed with Call of Duty 4, so did I - and I'm hoping that the next game Treyarch makes will be just as good for the casual gamers, but also maintain the same features/balance that was found in Call of Duty 4.

I never meant to say it was a 'bad' game, rather that it wasn't a game made with competition in mind, and that's what kept many players like myself away. That and those damn dogs :P

Anyways, didn't mean to sidetrack the thread. If Call of Duty introduces players to Vietnam it could be very fun if done properly - although I would still prefer a new Battlefield: Vietnam over a Call of Duty game in that setting, mainly for the vehicle and map size aspects.

Dont worry Defekt, unless CoD7 is done on a different engine, Treyarch learned from the mistakes as IW did.

Some of the bugs Treyarch had were the exact same as CoD4 had. The /record, fps and open point system were the only ones that were "new". All the other bugs, CoD4 had as well.

Now if CoD6 has the EXACT same bugs as CoD4 did, then we are all doomed (ohno).

After playing more of the map Knee Deep this weekend, Treyarch could do Vietnam, definitely.

Also, I hear what you're saying Defekt.

I think it could as well. I had a craving to play a little COD4 custom map goodness yesterday, and the terrific map mp_bacalao (http://www.fpsbanana.com/maps/49481) came up. I remember being impressed by it when it first came out, but hadn't played it in awhile. So much fun. And it totally has a Southeast-Asia feel to it.

That looks like a sweet map. I'll have to follow you in next time. I almost played some CoD4 this weekend, had the slight urge. :)

Otherwise I don't really care what kind of setting they come up with as long as it's well made.
