Call Of Duty 7 in Development

Although it doesn't come as too much of a surprise, we have some semi-official word today that Call of Duty 7 is currently in development by Treyarch. CVG is reporting that a Senior Animator at Treyarch, David Kim, recently had this posted up on his LinkedIn page:

"I am currently on my second title as a senior animator in the games industry with Activision / Treyarch on Call Of Duty 7."

Again, this shouldn't come as shocking news as the development cycle for Call of Duty games has been a two year cycle for each developer. What would you like to see from Call of Duty 7? More WWII? Vietnam? Modern? Let us know what you think!

Treyarch would be stupid to try a modern setting, 'nam or sci fi would be my guess as well.

My guess is they will stick to a real war setting most likely WWII. Vietnam however would be a nice change of pace.

I love WWII and would be happy if they stick with that. I think the "older" weapons allow for better infantry battles, and the settings/maps have a certain feel that really puts you in the war.

However, if they tried Vietnam, I'd definitely be interested in that setting as well.

With IW doing the modern thing, I can't see Activision allowing Treyarch to go in that direction. And I think sci-fi is probably too "out there" for a lot of people, and would probably be too risky for the franchise.

'Nam would be awesome. They would be able to get a lot of mushy stuff into SP as they always like to.

I hope for Nam as it has not been overdone. Also no one has made a GOOD Nam game to date. Well thats my opinion anyway.

To you WWII fans, not quite sure where i saw it but im 95% sure i saw a quote from a treyarch developer sayed "We like to think of this as a closing to the WW2 genre."

I would think they would aim for 'Nam but if they are going to do it, they have to do it perfectly..
