First Image of Pro Evolution Soccer 2010 Released

Konami has released the first in-game image of its forthcoming sports title Pro Evolution Soccer 2010. Take a look:

Demonstrating the stunning new level of detail and graphical refinement, the work in progress image shows cover star Lionel Messi in action in the new game, and showcases a massive advance in aesthetic detail. PES 2010 will feature all-new dynamic lighting effects, where the position of the sun or the illumination from the floodlights is reflected in real time within the shadows cast both on the pitch, stadium, the ball and players.

The newly-expanded Tokyo-based PES Productions team has also worked hard to create the most vivid player recreations to date. Player expressions are now fully implemented, while the level of detail has been extended to individual skin textures and different weaves for the various kits (jerseys) to mimic the breathable material that many manufacturers use today.

When compared to last year the graphics have had a great bit of improvement. Check back for more news and images regarding PES10.

Pro Evo > Fifa in terms of fun.

At first glance, you'd think why the hell buy Pro evo over Fifa, but after playing, it's obvious.

I hope they implement become a legend better. I just made the Fulham bench and played my first game. Subbed on at 80 minutes :p

In general terms, this is what "serious" fans of soccer video games have been saying for quite some time. EA's FIFA always had the edge in graphics, however, which was an obvious draw for many others who had never tried the Konami game.

Now, however, this could indeed start drawing some of those more casual fans away from FIFA to try this brand.

Fifa is just too predictable and scripted. It seems like when you take a shot there only 10 or so different outcomes that could occur, whereas in Pro Evo, it seems completely random.

Hell, I remember one time I took a shot, it hit the crossbar, hit the keeper on the back of the head and went in. You wouldn't see that in Fifa :p

I was never interested in PES just because it looks terrible but now that is a different story, I will have to give PES10 a fair chance vs FIFA10.
