New Sniper Update Info - New Blogpost

The fine gentlemen at Valve updated their blog a bit earlier today with some information about the sniper update, and some of the things Valve thinks about when designing the game:

The Sniper has been a tricky class to update. In particular, designing an alternative to the Sniper Rifle has been a challenge. To understand why, we need to go back, way back, into the mists of time, when dinosaurs roamed the earth, and we started working on TF2. If it helps, you can listen to the Doctor Who Theme while you read.

So it appears the sniper might be getting something a bit more close quarters oriented! But as always, Valve doesn't let go of any details until they've finished it.

Valve also posted a small last minute blog post about the 2D Team Fortress 2 clone Gang Garrison 2, which is definitely worth a try if you're a TF junkie.

That's a very good read. I like how they explain the thought process and info gathering behind this design decision.

The only idea I could make out of this is a scope-less bolt action rifle.

I'd like a 50 cal sniper rifle, non bolt action pl0x.
