Bad Company 2 - 40 Players Confirmed

Thanks to community member Shrapnellistic and a post he made over on the EA UK forums, we now know that Battlefield: Bad Company 2 will support 40 players online. Take a look:

FORTY-FIED MULTIPLAYER
EA hasn't yet made any announcements about the multiplayer side of the game. The only thing we know for certain is that 40 people will be able to duke it out on to servers when the sequel hits rather than Bad Company's previous player cap of 24. New game modes and plenty of maps a shoo-in however, that's what sequels are made for after all.

I honestly don't mind 40. I usually play 32 in bf2, but I did always like jumping in a 64 once in awhile. I think overall though I much rather have 40 then just 24.

40 is acceptable given all the vehicle coding and the destroyable environments.

If Frostbite can handle 40 players on a console, this is a very very good sign for upcoming Frostbite games on PC! :)

Its slightly better, but still a downgrade. Most of us are expecting 128 player.

Sorry, but thats rubbish. Its been articulated perfectly by people smarter than me, but having a large sandbox battlefield is what drew people to BF is the first place.

Bad Company 2 is a long way off, and even longer for the PC if it's like all other games lately.
