please tell me, will installing this beta patch affect my 1.41 install and the servers I can join? I do not wish to give up my ability to play on my favorite servers just for this beta.

Yes the patch will affect you from joining 1.41 servers. You can still play both just copy and paste your bf2 folder. install the patch this will be your beta bf2.

make a shortcut of the exe in your copy of bf2 folder and that will be your 1.41 bf2.

so if you don't mind using some HD space, you can play both.

Biff, run the game with "+fullscreen 0" that will pop an error window when it crashes.

my game crashes to desktop as soon as i start it, just a quick black screen and ctd.

OK so, so far,

Is widescreen properly done? - from the looks, they need to fix the HUD

Is the poor poor J-10 nerfed?

Did they really take out CD-Check? - This would be awesome

Cant wait to start playing and try things out I might even try flying for a change.:cry:

when you copy your file one will be renamed. the patch will be installing in Battlefield 2 not battlefield 2-copy. so battlefield 2 will be 1.50 and battlefield 2 -copy will be 1.41

anyone running this on vista64?

I have vista+64 bit, and its very smooth in game, but i have noticed a bit hard to join a game sometimes, it looks like its going to join the server and then takes you back to the server list , its just like what happens when the server is full or when it says '' you have failed to connect, test your connection '' , just I'm not getting any error message at all.

No dolphin divers is the best thing that could have happened to this game, if dolphin divers are going to stop playing because of it then it can only be a good thing, leave the battlefiled to the people how really have skills, and you dolphine divers can get back to the circus, NOOBS, last night i have the most enjoyable games i have every had snice playing BF2 3 years ago.

Get back to the circus dolphin divers !!!.We have the battlefiled Back.:laugh:

Anyone else notice that the patch installs the map Taraba Quarry and adds folders for other maps from the two booster packs?

Personally I don't think they've done enough to stop the problem, it's not the fact that you can dive to prone quickly it that the weapons are too accurate upon doing so. When you go prone the cone of fire should be very erratic for say 1 second and then settle down to a more precise grouping, if you're already prone then moving around (while prone) shouldn't affect your accuracy.

anyways, there's a poll here and if DICE uses it for feedback on the patch then it looks like it'll be reverted back to the way it was.
