Forum member Basil. sent us a video from Dutch website InsideGamer featuring an interview with Battlefield 1943 producer Gordon van Dyke. PC gamers will be happy to know that in the second half of the interview he stresses that the PC version of Battlefield 1943 will be separate from the console editions and take advantage of the extra possibilities - we just need to be patient.

Re: Interview with Gordon van Dyke
Alex I have no idea for how many people I speak for, but please remove that from you signature. Tong meets mouse trap is very painful to see.
I hope they don't take the lack of a support system for future BF games, the whole scoring points for support roles made BF2 for me and alot of the ppl I played with.
EDIT: I just noticed what's wrong with the video, that's just a picture LMAO. I need this weekend BADLY. (sitting here waiting for the video to stop loading so I can watch it)
EDIT2: Ok, I now understand why they removed the support element was removed from this game, that universal appeal element for gamers that come from other games that did not have it. And they are doing something different for PC gamers, w00t.Comment

Re: Interview with Gordon van Dyke
How about playing 1943 first and then BC2 when it is released. Not sure what the release dates are but I think it's in this order.Originally posted by Alex98ukI love the idea.
The most annoying thing will be whether to play1943 or BC2!Comment

Re: Interview with Gordon van Dyke
BF1943 is due out this summer-ish, and BC2 apparently not until the first 3 months of 2010. Plenty of time between them. :)Originally posted by thekillerjudHow about playing 1943 first and then BC2 when it is released. Not sure what the release dates are but I think it's in this order.Comment

Re: Interview with Gordon van Dyke
All I'm hearing is that they'll make sure the controls aren't the same as the console version, probably speaking to the usual slower controls for FPS games on consoles not fitting in with PC games.
It'll be interesting if they follow through with having dedicated servers on the PC along with a proper server browser etc or if they just slap on a Windows Live matchmaking system with a "play now" button.Comment

I think the PC version of 1943 will have more features than the console version like more players, most likely dedicated server, etc.Comment
