New Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising Video + Screens

Codemasters is rolling out the coverage today for their hotly anticipated shooter Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising. They have published six new screenshots as well as a new trailer asking if you're ready for open world modern warfare. Take a look:

Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising is scheduled for a summer release on the PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

I've never played either OpFlashpoint or ArmA in the past, but I am very interested in giving them both a go this time around.

But I have some questions for those who are familiar with 1 or both games.
    - What is the multiplayer mode like...is there the "classic" Team A vs Team B playing TDM or Objective modes, or is it always co-op players vs CPU opponents?
    - if there is Team A vs Team B, is it always long, drawn-out rounds with people sneaking across a huge map (if so, how long?), or are there any quicker game modes? (not run 'n gun, but just not the painstakingly slow play either. Something in between)

I am looking forward to the slow, careful, sim-type gameplay, but just wondering if it is only that, or if these games allow for something more.

    Thanks in advance.

Alright well as far as ArmA goes, there are dozens and dozens of mods. They're very small too so it's great. On such huge maps (250sq km) there are always objectives you need to take. It's like Conquest BF2 style but with much more teamwork. Because if you go anywhere alone, you're dead. Also a clan is worth being in for some good moments.

Anyway AFAIK there's COOP and conquest, aswell as other types likes TDM and all. There's also one that's complicated to explain but it's called Warfare mod. Basically you spawn at a selected area on the entire huge map, and get cash for what you do, you get cash per minute though so you quickly have enough money to buy AI units and send them to capture other places. So you can have huge 50-70+ vs 50-70+ matches without much lag or any at all. Lots of fun!

I'd agree with you, but some of the textures look horrific. However, I buy games for gameplay :wee:

The old OFP was awesome, i stumbled upon the GOTY edition of OFP and modded the crap out of it with FFUR mod and OFP 2 is going to rock, i just hope it's slightly more merciful to us players than it was in OFP :P two shots and bam you're down kinda like GRAW2.

Well that's where you make the decision; do you want a military simulator or an arcade game?

I love the damage/heal system! Keep it up!

Looks like the perfect mix of BF2, America's Army, and CoD4. I'll definitely keep an eye out for this.
