    BASHandSLASH 101 - Open Warfare

BASHandSLASH has their new bashcast up for this week. This week's bashcast talks about Open Warfare. For those who have played this gameplay mod, it is a very good mod as you know. It hardly ever has the qport error with custom maps that some of the other mods have. I have played it on Fritz Mods' server and it is quite enjoyable. I do not like the 'black screen' that appears every time you die as it gets quite annoying, but everything else is close to perfection in my opinion. Read below about bashcast 101.

Guillermo (aka T3chn0r) and Mats (Space Pig) are two of the most sincerest individuals we have interviewed since the podcast began. Not only do they understand the art and science of scripting — they are both passionate enthusiasts and crusaders.

Guillermo came up with the idea for Open Warfare after competitive-play PAM support in CoD4 fell away. He vowed that no community mod should depend on the availability of just one person. Like-minded Mats came along just a bit later, looking to spread the burden of supporting the Tactical Realism Mod. Competition mod blended with the world of Tactical Realism and another great multi-purpose mod was born.

Listen to the cast to find out how to enhance your CoD4 and CoD:WW experience with Open Warfare!

Once again, if you would like to delve deeper into the 'behind-the-scenes' world of the CoD series, definitely listen to this bashcast.

This is the most configurable mod that I have seen in COD4. You can set your server up as stock.... or change it to total hardcore server setup.

Which is probably its biggest selling point. Too many mods are thinking of just what they want to do, but this mod thinks of what people out there want to do. It's a more selfless mod and I believe it truly shows.

It was mainly an up line so it was mellow/easy - I usually play with Ninja Mono that's why I added the as-nogrey tag so that I could get loads of points but I accidently loaded it with pusher pro instead lol...

There was a few downs if I remember correctly, just a few 10 seconds of speed then back to the normal upwards pace

Dunno if it was a joke or not, sarcasm is very hard to pick up on the internet :p

Audiosurf is a video game that analyses your music (in this case a podcast), it creates a track and you fly around it in a little ship and the track is in tune with the music.

                      Example:

Sveet! You were correct in informing me as I had not heard of that program before. That is definitely cool! I could see where it would be interesting to have that also during a podcast if you want to do something while listening. I was doing stuff in the kitchen yesterday and on the laptop while I listened to the bashcast.

I can't believe you have never heard of audiosurf Jo. It is one of the best indy games I have ever played. Gives a new experience to music. Get it off steam for $10. http://store.steampowered.com/app/12900/
