GDC: Total Gaming Network At Battlefield Bad Company 2 Unveiling

Total Gaming Network's very own Tina Tyndal was lucky enough to attend the Battlefield: Bad Company 2 premier event last week in San Francisco at GDC. Here's the intro to the article:
Total Gaming Network headed over to the EA DICE party at Harlot nightclub Wednesday night to watch the world debut of Battlefield Bad Company 2 and get some hands on game play of Battlefield 1943. Standing in line in front of the tank-shaped ice luge it was obvious this was going to be a great night.

The world debut of Battlefield Bad Company 2 showcased single-player game play footage, kicking into high gear in no time, with the team fighting enemies through a snowy landscape. DICE has ramped up the destruction factor in Battlefield Bad Company 2 – at one point footage showed an entire house filled with enemies coming down and enemies blasting through a wall as you crouch down to escape fire. Based on the footage it looks like Battlefield Bad Company 2 has moved away from the humor featured in the first game, but we’ll have to sit back and watch as they provide more information on the game in upcoming months.

Total Gaming Network did ask the developers TGN community questions about Battlefield Bad Company 2 and 1943, but they gave me a wink saying that they would be covering questions like these at E3 and future months. We will keep you all posted!

Why are the iron sights so massive? D: Would put an eye out if you held it that close =/

I'm not sure that's actually a negative though. The FOV is less and the zoom is larger. Might allow you to see and accurately shoot longer distances. In some other games, the ironsight setup can be too small/cramped because it doesn't zoom in enough.

Will have to see more video/try a demo to see how they actually work or don't work in-game.

And so it begins, side stepping the questions.

That could just be an artifact of the camera/flash interacting with the surface of the TV. If you've ever taken a picture at night that had streetlights or christmas lights, or some other light source in it, and the camera was moving a bit or you weren't using a high enough speed of film, similar artifacts will show up.

People arent giving this game the credit it deserves. Is it going to be the greatest thing ever? No. Is it going to be a fun game that will fill in during the summer while Bc2 is being worked on? yes.
