No More "CoD"? - Modern Warfare 2 Official Press Release
Re: No More "CoD"? - Modern Warfare 2 Official Press Release
I believe it should be CoD: MW2, but if maybe they're taking the sour grapes rationalization and since they can't have CoD all to themselves, they won't have it at all. :p

I really hope you aren't one of those IW fanboys that think World at War wasn't a real CoD title, because it didn't have the number 5 in it, so it wasn't the 5th major installment of the game which would make IW's next CoD title be the 5th major CoD title.
I got the 5 and 6 thing wrong, so sue me. :p
Thing is though, by simply removing "Call of Duty" from the name of this game, sales may be lost. I know some people who simply buy Call of Duty just because it is Call of Duty.
Re: No More "CoD"? - Modern Warfare 2 Official Press Release
Someone posted on the Network somewhere, something along along the lines of outlining that when people hear Call of Duty, they think of WWII, but when they hear Modern Warfare, they think of CoD4.
So basically questioning whether it will really affect anything at all. It only really needs Modern Warfare..
Re: No More "CoD"? - Modern Warfare 2 Official Press Release
Its a mass of confusion, call of duty 6 modern warfare 2 infinityward game 4 so would it be Infinityward's call of duty 4 modernwarfare 2 ARGH! its confusin mi!

so this begs the question, since TGN has a CoD site - does this game still fall under that umbrella?
Long-term, I think it's too early to tell (depending on how different the IW and Treyarch products become)...but for now I'd say they should probably be kept together in the same COD section.
It will be interesting to see if Activision even keeps the COD brand going for the WWII game, or if that is dropped and gets re-branded completely as well as just "World at War 2".
