Bungie, in speaking at this year's GDC, announced that more content for Halo 3 is definitely in the works. They went so far as to say that they may be working on Halo 3 for the next two years.
The team at Bungie is also working on non-Halo projects, something they were unable to really do when tied down by Microsoft. With Halo 3 still holding on to the top positions week after week on Xbox Live, the game certainly has a ton of life left in it.

"Halo 3 took two and a half years to make, and we're still working on it," producer Allen Murray said. "We'll probably be working on it for two more years."
