Imo BF42 was the best of the franchise, because of the diversity. What it lacked in graphics and netcode, it made up for in variety and gameplay. Why they moved away from that formula, i'll never understand.

I hope they go back to that full battlefield formula in the future.

That was a good read and I agree with you on most of the points. I'll give PR a try and see what all the hullabaloo is about!

I think that creating a mod gives you an advantage of hardcoredness that retail games can't provide.

I also think the PR mod looks amazing and they have some real talented folks on that team.

I'll get my download going and see if it's for me.

thanks for the input and info snazzy!

Mods are something that will be greatly missed if the future restricts them.

Was anyone here ever apart of "Total War"

Not only was it a mod but it was a campaign.
Pilots had to test to be pilots, Tankers drove tanks only & Infantry had assigned kits, teamwork was the name of the game. And you had to sign up to gain access. Best war's I was ever apart of.

While mods are great it also splits the community.

I dont want to depend on mods for a good game, some of us only have time to play randomly and for short periods.

1942 was very diverse, however that doesnt mean that refined or redefined gameplay is somehow worse than it was before.
Thats just the opinion of some of the BF players, not all of them.

Im sure DICE doesnt have any fun making the same game over and over again with better graffix. Which seems to be what some desire.

1943 doesnt worry me because its not a full fledged game, just as Heros didnt make me think BF franchise was going in that direction.

Patience is and has always been key.
