LOL, removing of some of the communities favorite/most hated guns...cries out someones wish list. No way that they would remove the Scorpion, P90, M21, R700, G3, G36 and put in a variant of the M4, a Canadian variant no less. I smell Canadian fanboyz and it stinks (j/k).

It's not unreasonable at all that they would do a significant overhaul of the weapons available. Games like STALKER showed a lot of people how many more varieties were out there, beyond the more well-known NATO and Cold War weapons. I'd love to see more of those in the game, and ditching some of the older weapons.

And even though you were half-joking, the weapon listed above the Canadian model was labeled as a US variant, and the one below as a UK variant. Doesn't seem like fanboy-ism to me. I'm not a gun guru, but from what I understand, the C7/C8 rifles are fairly advanced, and versions of them are used by other militaries around the world: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diemaco_C7

Some of the more complained about weapons in the game.

New Assault rifle: Diemeco C8 (Canadian forces M4 equivelant)

Why "add" that when it looks identical to the M4.

I made the Canadian joke in response to the countless times that Canadian fanboyz have tried to suggest that they should put Canadian "Special" Forces into games, I *sigh* each and every time.

The irony there is that a lot of special forces around the world aren't as "special" or secret as they once were, being glamorized in TV, books, and movies. A lot of operational security has gone out the window, and many have become large and bloated, especially with support personnel, and can't deploy as fast or as "quietly" as in the past.

Canada has a highly-trained spec war force, but aside from the name that is sometimes mentioned, very little is heard or known about it publicly. We don't have a large military, but our elite units are comparable to any others in the world. So if you're scoffing at the fanboys, that's fine, but if you're scoffing at Canada's actual spec war force, then you might actually be surprised.

Nice to see at least a semi-official denial, instead of the usual "we don't comment on rumour" line, which just makes a lot of people even more inclined to keep believing it.
