After a ruthless month of voting back in January and an excruciating wait in February for the results, we're finally here at the beginning of March and the ModDB Players Choice Mod of the Year 2008 is none other than Project Reality for BF2! The PR mod team swept the awards, also picking up an Editor's Choice award for Best Multiplayer Mod. Let's hand it over to the PR guys for this special update on their website:

The votes have been counted and the results are finally in for Mod DB's prestigious "Mod of the Year 2008" competition! Out of 5,000 mods spanning across a variety of games and over 115,000 votes in total, Project Reality has officially been crowned Mod DB's Player Choice "Mod of the Year 2008" and also Editors Choice "Best Multiplayer Mod"!
After placing second for the past 2 years running, a historical first in the 7 years Mod DB has been holding the competition, Project Reality, who was the only Battlefield 2 mod to place in the top 10, finally notched past some very stiff competition to take home top place. We would like to extend our congratulations out to all of the top mod teams for their great finishes this year. The innovation and quality of your mods continues to inspire us all. The Project Reality Mod Team is fully aware that our accomplishments are not entirely attributable to just hard-working, talented team members. We recognize that the mod has grown and prospered because of a great community of gamers, like you, who have given us continued loyal support and meaningful feedback since the very beginning. With that said, we would like to say thank-you to all of the community for playing and promoting our Mod, for experiencing the growing pains of "product in evolution" with patience, and for helping to get Project Reality into the forefront of the international modding community. Without the continued support from our global community, the entire Mod DB staff, Black Sand Studios, and from each developer, contributor and tester on the team, Project Reality would not have been able to evolve into the mod it is today.
