JD_2020, What Are You Smoking Sir?

In a recent twitter announcement, JD_2020, Treyarch's community manager for CoD:WW, posted the following:
JD_2020 Being a community manager is like being Batman... You must be whatever they need you to be; a hero or a villain - and you just take it =).

Okay...so every once in a while, you might want to step away from the PC, get some fresh air, then come back. I'm not sure if he's referring to anything specifically, or if he is just referring to the general insanity he's been through lately.

Thanks FPSadmin for the heads up on the twitter.

When has he been a hero? When he's done the job for which he's paid? The rest of the time he's been belittling customers and the admins of servers that keep his job around.

LOL Unnamed! While true depending on your viewpoint, for what it's worth, Treyarch probably pays the guy to do (in part) what he does on the net. To the extent he does his job it is highly likley that he is not always allowed the use of or told, the entire truth -and all that that implies. I think if I worked for CA, Paradox, IW, or similar crews known for extensive PRE-RELEASE polish, and quick hotfixes for major fubars, I would accept a job like his.

Since this is not his case, to me the question is do you blame his company for helping to MAKE him appear (and possibly BE) a looney, or does he bear more responsibility for taking such a job without looking into the history of the Developer?

It isn't so much what he says that grates on me. It's his stupid little smileys and how he words things. His tone. Activision and TreyArch aren't responsible for him being a douchesicle to people trying to help him.

Server admins: "The way you have handled custom maps and mods on clients and servers is causing problems. This is the way others have fixed it and it worked for them..."
JD: "You're wrong. Working as intended. Soon. That's what you signed up for when you got the PC version. =P "
It's like JD went to a class on how to efficiently piss off hardcore, long-term fans of the COD series.
