BattleForge Community Update - 09/02/09 Press Roundup

EA Phenomic yesterday released some press updates from around the internet about their upcoming MMORTS BattleForge, TGN included. Check it out:

It has been four weeks since our last press roundup and since then, we have collected some BattleForge press clippings for you.

The Total Gaming Network, which has reported quite a bit about BattleForge in the past, has put together an extensive preview, complete with screenshots.

The editor of the German-language PC Games, Felix Schütz, wrote the following about BattleForge in the March issue:

"The card system, the cooperative missions, the ease of game play- it all fits wonderfully together. The constant availability of new cards kept me coming back. Keep it up EA Phenomic - you've sold me on this one!"

Another detailed review comes our way via the American website Worthplaying.com, which wrote a review of the BattleForge beta with a ton on screenshots.

"BattleForge simply has a game play style that fills a hole in the real-time strategy genre, coming across as fresh and yet comfortably recognizable at the same time.”

EA's Phenomic Studio is developing BattleForge, a new fantasy online RTS game where you assemble your own army with collectible trading cards. Win, trade and buy your cards online to create your ultimate deck.

Bit-tech.com concluded the following about BattleForge :

"...the game is both ingenious and addictive, with a steadily fun game play at the core[...] we have no doubt that it could be the Next Big Thing. "

EA Phenomic's latest PC exclusive strategy game certainly isn't afraid to shake things up a little - but can this online card-based RTS manage to make a stir in our hearts too? We take a close look at the latest game from the makers of Settlers to see what's what.

Play.tm wrote the following about BattleForge in a preview article:

" The idea of combining an MMO-style community with an RTS feels pretty unique and certainly has the potential to be great fun."

The online videogame giant IGN also had a look at BattleForge and concluded:

"A fun ride so far [...] Combined with the PvP arenas and missions designed for multiple players, it seems EA Phenomic is aiming their product at those who like to participate in a community while playing and collecting, as well as at those who like to play alone but appreciate having an auction available to purchase new cards."

The UK's vidogamer.com gives an interesting outsiders perspective on BattleForge.

Last but certainly not least. Gametrailers.com conducted a wide-ranging interview with Product Marketing Manager Kevin O'Leary. You can check out the video here:

As you can see our very own Alex Corkum took some time out to preview the BattleForge beta.
