Gamespot has posted seven supposedly new Battlefield 1943 screenshots today. As it turns out, they're actually all just stills from the trailer released yesterday. You can still look at them though:

Looks more like BF Heroes (cartoony) than the actual BF series.

Don't worry, blame GameSpot for their misleading titles. Same title was used on PBF as well :p

I think they just mod BF:Heroes into BF:1943. Like BF2 to BF2142.

hehe its a very different engine

and just because its a bright day it doesn't mean its cartoony, its just bright and the colors are more noticeable.

The only major difference is 1943 is first person, despite the over the top arcadeness I'd rather play 1943 than Heroes any day.

edit:

and yes, the frostbyte engine should add something to the mix with destructible environments.

The clouds make it look cartoony. That and the bloom I guess.
