True, but I think perhaps this is the reason they've decided to wait so long to say anything. I mean, basically coming out and saying, 'Hey PC guys - yeah you, the ones who made our BF franchise what it is today - we're going to take a virtual belt sander to your virtual testicles and turn the entire franchise into a console port!' is the kind of news you'd probably want to delay as long as possible, no?

      you have a point

but with all this crisis maybe they are going for taking the most money possible from it and try to sell it on most platforms they can.

we all know what console ports have been lately, and we've seen some major letdowns (gta4 yay!!!)

but this is DICE, they gave us the pc version of Mirror's Edge, yes it was a short game, but it was very good on the PC.

but i still think there is a major BF game unannounced.

        DICE has awesome digs.

I want her for a workout partner. :knuddel:

I'm glad that Battlefield 3 most likely won't be a WWII game, BF1943 clears the way for a modern combat theme.

Hmm.... only 3 maps, is this game going to be a free-to-play type?

I'm starting to think (even though not released to everyone yet) that this is what BF:H was all about.

                ?

Battlefield Heroes is a totally different game, the only thing they have in common is conquest mode and both have Battlefield in their name.

If DICE wanted to substitute BF1943 for Heroes I would cheer! :yay:

but that's not going to happen.

Van Dyke explains that 1943 will have more in common with Bad Company in terms of gameplay, but with all of the things that made 1942 great.
                  Dear god NO!

Watching the video atm, they based it on 'arcade downloadable and the PS Network', thats a bad start...but there not going to have unlocks, which may be good or bad.
the 24player is the 'Hole in the Ship' that is this game, they need to show the public that this game will be enjoyable despite its crappy numbers of ppl on in any one match.
Theres still the variety of kits to be had, mybe 4-7 perhaps?

They also mention the 'price point will be very appealing', but the went on to say it will be at a price that most premium console games are at, which isnt good for something that is, compared to 1942, half a game.

Although on a minor note here, even if ive seen it plenty of times, the DICE office is a very very cool place to work, hell if I put my back into learning stuff/passing exams I'd love to work there one day :p

The video stopped when they were about to enter the secret bit.

It depends, there are plenty of decent games on the PSN, never heard of Warhawk, Wipeout HD :p

He said price of download premium console games, usually about £6 - £20 on the PSN, seems reasonable to me. :|:

Oh dear! Console stuff! Not for me, I'm afraid!

By the way, was it just me, or did that Bf 1943 trailer look worse than Bf 2 or Bf 2142? Oh, and incidentally, I'm not an EA / DICE automatic hater. In fact I hate to be critical of any games or developers, if I can help it, but as was stated in a previous post, this seems to be a regression, not an advance.

I agree with you, I don't like being critical of games or developers. I understand that developers work extremely hard on the games, and I respect them for the amount of effort and hard work they put in. There are times, though, when things like this happen (BF1943) and I become very critical...

Dice has been reduced to nothing.

                                Where's the 64 player environments?

Where's the epicness of it all?

                                Its just missing!
