Epic Games' popular Gears of War port to the PC has recently become unplayable for all users after its Windows digital certificate was somehow allowed to expire. Epic has commented on the situation:
"We have been notified of the issue and are working with Microsoft to get it resolved. Sorry for any problems related to this. I'll post more once we have a resolution."
"Yes, this was a surprise to us too. We aren't casting blame or chewing anyone out. We're trying to figure out how and why it happened so we can get it fixed."
Since the certificate expired on January 29th, the game can be reenabled for now by setting the Windows clock to an earlier date. Stay tuned to TGN for updates on a more permanent fix.
