Is BFBC2 actually confirmed, or is that just an assumption?

I thought I read something about it... was some game news site that reported on it, but I don't know if it was rumours or an interview with the developers...

Eh, whatever. It's a game, at least. Or it's a movie perhaps.

I think it was one of those sorta thing like it was very popular and has a high chance of getting a sequel sorta thing.

What I find most interesting about this is that 'Heroes' is part of the entire problem which lead to the massive layoffs at EA. EA is trying to nickle and dime people during slower economic times to the point where they've had to cut staff, delay a 'great game' that they promised us almost a half-year ago, and worst of all, not only is the public release of this game absolutely no where in sight, but there's a chance it will never come at all. If EA were to focus on core-franchise games only, Heroes is never even fathomed, and not only are the current battlefield PC games more refined, but we'd be farther along in the series (we would be talking about BF3 right now instead of bitching about a crappy Heroes game).

I don't feel bad for a lot of the companies that are taking a beating right now because for the most part, it's their own damn fault with stupid marketing and product decisions.

At this point, I don't think we'll see even an open beta of Heroes until fall, and that's assuming that it's released at all.

Considering it sold ~2 million copies, which is actually pretty successful, I highly doubt 500 million people downloaded and installed it. That just doesn't pass my bullschisse test and looks like crying for no reason. They want to blame lost sales on piracy, and that's fine. But lies and hyperbole just piss on their credibility.:shakehead:

Where on earth did Crytek say that anyway? Sure, the game was one of the most pirated 2008 but Crytek would never exaggerate that much. 250 illegal copies for every legal one just doesn't make sense.

...Now that I played Mirror's Edge, I'm really exited about how BF3 will use used the physics.

                  Why? Mirror's Edge was UE3 + Physx.

                      I'd rather not have "BF3" on UE3.

Could you imagine dolphin sliding instead of dolphin diving?

I thought the movement in ME was very impressive work, running, jumping and crash rolls and would be a very nice addition to BF. I'll be happy as long as they don't remove the parachute.

It just doesn't fit the military soldier thing... I don't think any 160 pound soldier with another 60 pounds of equipment (a rough guess as I have no clue) plus holding a rifle will be able to do any sliding, crash rolls or jump kicks. Sure, the super-high jumping in BF2 is unrealistic, but mirror's edge dynamic in a battlefield game would just be so unrealistic that it would be ridiculous

Considering DICE have all the time in the world to finish BF3, and that they've made the frostbite engine themselves, I'm willing to bet that there will be some sort of mirrors edge dynamic in the game. Not like clinging onto pipes in the ceiling or so but hurdling over small walls and rocks, sliding under small obstacles if you sprint then prone, or something like that.

Daymm BF3 will be epic either way

i think we'll also see more model animations like opening vehicle doors and entering/exiting them, getting on/off a ladder, etc. fluid animations like crysis, not like suddenly disappearing into a vehicle by hitting 'E' next to it.

it could also be sort of a fancy way to do evasive maneuvers. btw the sliding thing has been in other games like GRAW and i found it quite useful. and i'm pretty sure it won't be a fancy way to bunny hop or dolphin dive since these BF2 issues were addressed in 2142.
