ModDB Top 100 Mods of 2008 Announced

After an intense couple weeks of voting and suspenseful wait for the final results (delayed, as usual), the ModDB Top 100 Mods of 2008 have been announced. This brings us to the second part of the voting process, where players vote for their top 3 mods and help decide who is awarded the top prizes this year.

As usual, Battlefield had a strong showing, with six BF2 mods making it into the Top 100:

Allied Intent Xtended is making its second appearance in the Top 100 this year.

Battlefield Pirates 2 is also in the Top 100 for the second year in a row.

Forgotten Hope 2 is no stranger to the ModDB leaderboards, taking 4th place in the Best Released Mods of 2007, as well as 2nd place in the Best Unreleased Mods of 2006 and 2005.

Operation Peacekeeper 2 has been sitting comfortably in the Top 100 every year since 2005.

Project Reality first showed up in the Top 100 in 2006, taking 2nd place in the Player's Choice awards for released mods. In 2007, they repeated the same result.

Stargate : La Relève is making its first appearance in the Top 100.

As usual, we have just one lonely mod filling the Battlefield 2142 category:

First Strike is the only Battlefield 2142 mod that has ever made it to the Top 100, with its first appearance in 2006. That year, they took 3rd place in the Unreleased Mods category.

They forget Battlepaint the most original and crazy mod of this 2 years past and the second real mod coming soon on bf2142

lol, put it this way there are enough mods out there to split the voting phase into 2 phases so that they can determine what the top 100 mods are :p

Ye I was surprised that POE2 didn't make it this year thou saying that most "released mods" don't even manage to make the top 100 2 years running, ie, not in the "unreleased mods" the year before that.

POE2 won Mod of the Year in 2006, so I'm pretty sure they're not eligible for any of the big awards. I was indeed shocked that they didn't show up in the Top 100 though, they were still in there last year.
