    First Strike Community Games Reminder

The First Strike mod team has posted up a reminder today to let everyone know about the community matches they are holding. Take a look:
Greetings troopers! Today we would like to remind everyone about the regular Saturday night Community Games, the next of which is tomorrow at 21:00 GMT (4:00 PM EST). Along with this reminder we bring you a video from one of our testers, Benu Kenobi. See you on the battlefield!

    <object width="375" height="310"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/uY7m94M80uw&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/uY7m94M80uw&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="375" height="210"></embed></object>
    Launcher Information
We would also like to reiterate that from now on you have to use the First Strike Launcher to start the game. You can no longer use a regular shortcut like in previous releases. Also, you can not manually update First Strike by simply extracting the patch files in the correct places. If you do this you will get a Modified Content error when trying to join a server. You have to let the Launcher update your game.

So how do you edit the launcher to allow custom screen resolutions, login info, etc.?

With shortcuts, you can add in multiple command line variables.

In the launcher, go to File--->Preferences---> then place your command line stuff in the "Arguments" box i.e. +menu 1 +widescreen 1 +szx 1680 +szy 1050

like a little pre launch thing? that's pretty cool, may be worth releasing it for vbf2 and all mods as a little side tool :)

It even updates your mod automatically. The mod is also supported by xfire, which is great as well. I played some hours the last days, including this evening.

It's really great and the best mod for bf2142 out there. So far it's my favorite mod generally, I love Star Wars and it tries to keep the canon, rather than including dozens of vehicles and weapons that don't fit into the scenery.
