EA Titles Now on Steam

As previously rumored, Steam now carries several hit EA games with more to follow. Could EA be planning to abandon EADM for Steam? Who knows. For now, we have some of the newest EA games conveniently located in the Steam store.

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. - December 18, 2008. Just in time for the holidays, Valve announced that, Spore™, Spore Creepy & Cute Parts Pack, Warhammer® Online: Age of Reckoning™, Mass Effect®, Need for Speed™ Undercover and EA SPORTS FIFA Manager 2009 are available now to gamers in North America via Steam, a leading platform for PC games and digital content with over 15 million accounts around the world.

EA should just release all their games on steam from now on... though I doubt it will ever happen :laugh:

I would love to see more companies join this sort of movement, its great to see such a huge company as EA distribute their games through Steam.

Could EA be planning to abandon EADM for Steam?

EA already has a good partnership with Valve, and Steam's technology is proven, popular, and already in place. Spending money on R&D and maintenance of EADM doesn't make that much sense, especially in these days of trying to cut costs and be more efficient. EA has wasted a lot of money over the yrs trying to re-invent the wheel (and trying to make certain technologies "their own").

Scrapping EADM and using Steam for e-distribution of games makes a lot of sense.
