Forgotten Hope 2 Mod Update - Scaling the Cliffs of Normandy

After the release of their v2.15 mod, the Forgotten Hope 2 team is back today with a new update. Check it out below:
Hello and welcome back to another update of Forgotten Hope. Today we continue with our Normandy themed news updates, but before we show you our first DDay map, we would like to thank everyone for their great feedback on our 2.15 patch. We hope everyone enjoys the new maps and that 2.15 will keep you playing until Normandy is finished.

Any game about Normandy in World War 2, of course, has to have its share of D-day maps and Forgotten Hope 2 is no exception. The first of our maps, taking place on June 6th 1944, we are showing off today and portrays the battle of Pointe Du Hoc. This map features US Rangers versus the German Wehrmacht and was made by Beregil.

Just 7 kilometres west of Omaha Beach lies Pointe Du Hoc, a place where the cliffs of Normandy are steepest and tallest. As part of the German Atlantikwall, this location was selected for an observation bunker and 6 fortified 155mm howitzers sites. From this place, the Germans could provide accurate artillery fire on invasion beaches many kilometres away. Needless to say, for any invasion in Normandy, this point would have to be taken out.

very good attention to detail, thou think you could use some more static rocks on the cliffs to do overlaps etc :)

CoD2 did some great research on Pointe du Hoc and knowing FH2 they also did some really great research so thats why the maps look like eachother.

Well, it's like this in real life (I've been there, they left it as it was after they fought there.) so it wouldn't be realistic too add rocks everywhere

I'm talking about the cliff face itself, since you can not do overhangs etc with "terrain rock" by adding in static rocks you can make a cliff face look and feel a lot more natural and a lot more detailed with also allowing players to grapple up the cliff if you have grapple hooks in.

hehe, most of the kits will have grappling hooks, and the cliff face has an invisible and identical mesh over it to allow grappling.

As Lobo and Azreal already stated, grappling is possible. I'll use the same argument again, there are no big rocks on the edge of that cliff, the cliff looks a bit polished on the sides.

SPR sucks and it's about Omaha Beach.
