Kotaku.com recently reported that owners of the special Limited Edition version of Call of Duty: World at War would have a special double XP weekend soon.

Activision reveals another excellent reason to shell out another $20 for the Limited Edition of Call of Duty: World at War as they announce a Limited Edition-exclusive double XP weekend.

Covering both the Xbox 360 and PC versions of the game, PC players need only log in for some multiplayer action between noon Pacific on Friday, December 5th to 11:59pm on Friday the 12th to reap the benefits of their more expensive edition. On the Xbox 360, players will need to make sure they completely activated their copy of the LE, and will have to play in specially marked "Officer's Club" playlists.

All this, and a replica flask that doesn't open. Way to go, LE buyers!

Some gamers have expressed outrage at Activision's marketing decision, especially PS3 owners since Activision's announcement does not mention the PS3 version at all.

I feel sorry for the LE owners. Powerlevel servers will still offer a ton more points than 2x xp.

Imagine 2x XP on power level servers. That'd be nuts. However, I think all the "Officer's Club" servers are probably being run by Activision and Treyarch, so I doubt there will be any powerleveling 2x XP servers.

I think that's only for 360 users though. For PC, it sounds like you just have to play on any ranked server during that week...so 2X powerlevel servers should still be possible. Yowza.

No need for such a comment. The man admitted his mistake, changed it, and he admitted the game was more fun/enjoyable ranking up the legal way. We don't need to hold everyone's mistakes against them. We're all moving on. Thank you. :salute:

It really helps to justify that I already have a real working flask...the final straw for me is the fact that the double XP weekend is the weekend before finals.

One weekend of double xp for a game you will hopefully play for several months?
I don't see what the big deal is, unless you plan on stockpiling caffeine and adult diapers before the event.
