TGN Celebrates Two Years of Wii -Super Smash Bros. Brawl

In celebration of the Wii, we at TGN have assemble our list of the top five games for the console. Leading up the the 19th we will be posting a review for each; check it out, it will be fun. The third game we will be taking a look at is Super Smash Bros. Brawl:
Mario and Sonic were the biggest of rivals back in the early 90's. Every kid was debating as to who would win in a fight, Mario with his jumping abilities or Sonic with his speed. Though the rivalry has died down, Nintendo has finally given fans a chance to answer that question with Super Smash Bros. Brawl. For the first time in the Smash Bros. series third-party characters have been included. Is this another classic or another Sonic?

The Smash Bros. series has never been hard pressed to include a story. Whatever story might have existed in 'Classic Mode' has now been replaced with a deep story known as the Subspace Emissary. In the story, there is a new villain introduced to the Smash Bros. world known as the Ancient Minister. Under the guidance of Ganondorf, he is issued an order to draw the world into subspace. It is later revealed that Ganondorf is being controlled by Master Hand and after that even more twists arise.

You can catch the full review here. Come back tomorrow as we post number two.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sora_Ltd.

    Info on Sora is wrong.

The Smash Ball is one of the new items is a better way of saying "newest item" for your picture caption.

Subspace Emissary is essentially Adventure Mode from Melee with an expanded story, more customization options, fewer brawls, and repetition of all previous stages at the end.

You didn't mention that you can customize which songs play on which menus and stages and you also didn't mention that you collect songs through CDs that drop down in battle or are rewards for completion of challenges.

"Sticking with the mechanic that has been in use since the original title, the game is still very fun to play as this time around it is a little more polished." Many newcomers will not understand this, so clarify. Brawl uses famed Nintendo characters and occasionally third party characters to compete in an epic melee. You are supposed to knock your enemy out of the screen somewhat similar to Soul Calibur's ring out system, but in Brawl it is the only way to win without stamina mode enabled. The characters defy physics to go flying off screen and this is a "ring out".

"No character has an upper hand anymore, all being well-balanced with one another. " This sentence is wrong, many characters have glitches and well known advantages over other characters. Hence the creation of a tier list, but these same lists are retarded.

You can change the control scheme to best fit your play style for all controller types, so tell the reader that.

You can also unlock characters through multiple methods, so you don't have to play through the single player if you don't want to.

"Throughout the story you will play as each and every one of the playable characters in the game. " Wrong, you do not have to play as everyone. You can easily not play as Jigglypuff, Toon Link, and Wolf. Besides, you don't even have to pick up all the characters at the end when you are preparing for the conclusion.

"an angel thing", not the best way to describe Pit. Not at all.

You barely mention the stage designer or the fact that some stages essentially repeat themselves (two Brinstars, one from melee and one from brawl).

You didn't mention the revamped coin launcher and how low the probability of getting new stickers, trophies, and CDs will become.

"Now all the Sega and Nintendo fanboys finally have a means to fight it out, and on one of the best fighters ever." You mean one of the best fighting games ever made right?

No mention of the evil game mechanic called tripping? That should definitely be mentioned as it is a horrible idea.

Your review left quite a bit out because you are assuming a reader already knows most of what Super Smash Brothers comprises. I suggest after you have read ThQp's article, read my review of Brawl which tries to cover everything, even though it isn't quite as "Professional" as ThQp. I tend to rant when I'm mad, just look above.
