Call of Duty: World at War Review List

Since Call of Duty: World at War's release this past Tuesday, a number of reviews have hit the web. The general consensus from these reviews is that Treyarch has made a solid entry into the COD series. Below is a list of some of the sites that have posted reviews as well as the score they gave the game. Check it out:

I personally would say around the 8.5 mark is appropriate.

I think it gets the extra bump b/c of the zombie mode, woot! Unclean, Whiskey, this public guy, and I were having a blast! We got to 17 two times and failed lol.

It's "okay" - but nothing new. I completede the SP part, and now I haven't played it since. It's just COD4 in WW2 style. And COD4 is also history for me.

It's a solid 8 at the very least, unless COD just isn't your cup of tea.

I'm enjoying it way more than COD4. More options, more modes, less weapon/nade spam. It gets more than a 9 from me.

I'm also enjoying it more than CoD4. Less nade spam, fun gameplay, less arrogant nubs compared to modern warfare games where they think they know everything about real life weapons, the blood/gore, CTF again (woot), and bolt action rifles! The bolt action rifles and the nade spam pretty much being non-existent are two huge pluses for me.

Everyone has diff opinions on games and ratings. Personally, I laugh at Crysis getting good scores. Played the sp, some neat ideas as far as technical stuff is concerned, but lame alien story (would've been better to keep the Korean govt angle) and the mp is horrible. Yet, it got good ratings, yes? Some reviewers don't just purely look at the game it seems. Which, if you don't agree with these scores, you could say they're counting in the fact that so many people have played the other CoD's, they know this is gonna do well also. Then there are the tards who know something is going to do well and just give it a bad score so they can get attention. Kind of like how 2 jerk wads did not vote 'yes' for Cal Ripken Jr. to get into the Baseball Hall of Fame b/c they didn't 'think' that anyone should ever get a unanimous yes vote into the Hall of Fame...wow, burn in hell! I see a lot of people doing that with this game it seems, knocking on it just to appear cool. If someone honestly doesn't like it, I can handle that, but when I just hear, it's horrible, with no explanation as to why...yeah, I ignore that convo.

I would give CoD:WAW an 8.5/10 (a 10/10 would be UO on the CoD4 engine). They left out some obvious features of the CoD series - namely the profile/name situation and /record demos. Coop and zombies give it a huge boost though. I won't elaborate on SP for the most part it is typical CoD. MP gameplay is very similar to CoD4 in my opinion. I haven't really had problems with nade spam in either game (I almost always play with <20 people). Bolts seem to be more powerful than those in the beta; with stopping power I was killing with 1 shot most of the time. Arty and dogs seem more balanced, but I would still prefer no streak bonuses.

Looking forward, paid DLC is as good as no DLC for me (obviously they will milk the console versions though). Hopefully there will be some good mods released later on. I'm hoping for a MP version of zombie mode with a regular server & more people that can join during the round. The current zombie mode is a great idea, but the map is lackluster at best. I want to defend Marksburg Castle from zombies, not some crappy bunker!

8.5 to 9 out of 10 is fair for this game.

If GTAIV gets a perfect 10, this game deserves that. Everyone knows Vice City was better.
