Just for the heck of it, I'll link to the article "Talking to Pirates" about the reasons on why people pirate anything: http://www.positech.co.uk/talkingtopirates.html

Many people try and cover up their own inadequate excuses with ones such as "it cost too much", "piracy helps the games market", "I wanted to try before i bought".

It really is just people don't want to spend. It's (what appears to be) a victimless crime.

        Confessions

I got a few people, maybe 5% of the total, who basically said "I do it because I like free stuff and won't get caught. I'd do the same with anything if I knew I'd get away with it." This is depressing, but thankfully a small minority.
Depressing? Those were the only ones telling the truith. lol.

The truth can be depressing. besides, if all of them are lying, they know the stats are actually much higher and that's definitely depressing. Very depressing, like when you see those horrid reality shows like Cheaters. The people who were cheated on start sobbing and yelling curses, but the camera doesn't stop rolling in fact they zoom in to enhance the melancholy atmosphere. It is such bad TV, but it is hilarious to watch. I thrive on human misery. Look at the avatar.
