Treyarch + Ultrastats = PC Stats

The Call of Duty website has been updated today with a new article telling of PC stats! Here's what they had to say:

I'm pleased to announce that Treyarch and the Ultrastats.org team have teamed up to bring you all a Day-1 PC Stats solution which will ship in the box!

Ultrastats is a powerful in-depth stats processing web application which will parse your server log files and generate comprehensive statistical data reports freely visible on your web page. From detailed weapon kill statistics, to map statistics, player statistics, and more – Ultrastats provides all the important info to track your clan’s statistics!

The package will be available out-of-the-box, and will be found in an "Extras" menu when you first pop your disc in prior to installing the game. Instructions for how to install and use Ultrastats will be included. Ultrastats will also be freely available for download online.

Awesome! I liked Ultrastats for COD4, but it had flaws. Hope they fix em for COD5

can ultrastats track total number of rounds fired from a gun

or is it just how many kills you have with it

also can it track all of the other cod games...

i host cod2, cod4, cod:ww servers at lanpartys can it track

all of them under one web site, ir am i goin to have to

Well I don't think they have changed alot for the new version of Ultrastats, so to be able to run Ultrastats for different games you basically 'install' it three times, since you have to pick what game you will be using it for when you 'install' it. Installation is easy, you just need a MySQL server (and an empty database, with an admin login that can create tables) then run the setup.php page on Ultrastats and enter the database name, admin login for that database and it will create the needed tables... then all you have to do after that is add the server(s) for that game and add the log files, then click update/parse stats and calculate the alias/medals - it's not that hard, it's just 'quite a few steps' :p

So when you setup ultrastats, upload it 3 times into 3 different folders, one for each game: e.g. /waw/stats/ /cod4/stats/ and /cod2/stats/ - then create 3 databases, one for each game, and create one admin login and add that login to each database... then it's just following the simple step-by-step from the webpage (e.g. yoursite.com/waw/stats/ - when you first load it tells you what to do)


Ultrastats at the moment "can't track total shots" - because that isn't 'tracked' in the log files... however if you ran a mod, then you could just edit the gametypes/globallogic gsc files so that after each shot it will count it and write it to the log file, but then you'd need to edit your Ultrastats and customize the tables so that it reads these 'new log lines' and parses them into the stats...

to use Ultrastats in COD4, I recommend Frontlines Mod, which is fully compatible with Ultrastats... take a look here!
