3 New Videos of the "Outskirts" Map for CoD:WW

IGN has posted up three new videos which display the map "Outskirts" for Call of Duty: World at War. You may be too busy playing the beta, but in one of your breaks, check these out!

    <embed src='http://videomedia.ign.com/ev/ev.swf' flashvars='object_ID=14222042&downloadURL=http://xbox360movies.ign.com/xbox360/video/article/924/924880/cod_outskirts_tankexplosion_flvlowwide.flv&allowne tworking="all%"' type='application/x-shockwave-flash' width='433' height='360'></embed>

We'll be seeing all of the maps pretty soon when the game is released in a couple of weeks. To view the other two videos, visit here.

OK, first the good stuff: Looks like a great map, some good house to house fighting. The guy cant snipe

Now the bad stuff: Im sorry, but the sounds in the beta do NOT sound like that. I am hoping that this is what the final game will sound like. My sounds are close to that, but its a bit muffled and no matter what I try, it isnt that.

Does anyone else have sounds like that? I have an X-Fi Xtreme Gamer card, so I would think that card could make those sounds.

No i mean people. Clearly they dont test enough, had they tested with a fully populated server they would have found the entities bug and many many others. It just worries me that what we are playing right now is the final release and we are doing a "beta" to find problem for the first patch.

Youre exactly right, the devs even said that they plan to have at least two major patches and unknown minor ones.

I know that they will probably be able to fix some of the things already mentioned in the 360 beta for release for PC as well. Also, the beta has a LOT of things turned off.

Dont get me wrong, I like the sounds and how it sounds like actual battle combat, I just wish it was a bit louder or unmuffled. I like how they are and the realism behind them.

My sounds don't sound bad at all. I have a X-Fi fatality with 5.1 headphones; though I have to admit, the bolt actions sound weak.

Despite everything though this map does look good.

There are no grenade launchers. Rifle grenades did exist in WWII, and you can see them in movies like Saving Private Ryan, Band of Brothers, etc.

It's not a red dot sight. It's an aperture sight...crude versions did exist in WWII. For the sake of gameplay, Treyarch just made them more effective and exaggerated than they were back then.

COD:WW isn't a WWII simulator. It's a video game, meant to be fun. The attachments were a huge part of COD4's success, so it makes perfect sense to try to include as many of them as possible in COD:WW to sell the game to COD4 fans. PC servers will probably be able to disable them for those that don't like it.

Its all buisness, but back on the topic of the map, it actualy looks like a decent sized map maybe.
