USK Censoring Only Goes So Far With L4D

Earlier this week we told you about the USK (Unterhaltungssoftware Selbstkontrolle) censoring the Left 4 Dead box art's thumb. Well now we have some new info for you. Take a look:

Some gore removed, an extra digit added. Well, EA have let us know that only one of the game’s boxes has been edited. The game’s other box – yes, it’s shipping with two covers - is OK! Turns out the game will ship with a paper sleeve. This sleeve, which is all you’ll be able to see when looking at the game on a store shelf, has the edited image. But when you get the game home and remove the sleeve, you'll see the actual DVD case, which has the regular, thumbless, geddit-zombies-eat-thumbs cover.

I think he was making the point that this is an english speaking community, but I still like to hear about this stuff.

Germany often seems very protective of anything overly radical or stuff like this, it seems, sometimes... often... maybe... or I'm just crazy?!

Yeah Germany seems to censor the slightest bit of gore, but is fine with full blown nudity...

I cant see the point in this edited outer box, they could have just made it a sexy black case.
