If anyone has played a (good) zombie game in the past, you should be very excited at this. It also opens a lot of potential for mods.

This reminds me a little of the CSS zombie mod as in this you could also build mini obstacles and it required a lot of teamwork. Im very excited to see how this gamemode will play out.

I hope the zombie mode has more than one map.

But it does look like it'll be a fun co-op mode to play. I watched 3 zombie movies back-to-back-to-back last night to get in the mood for Halloween next week, so watching the COD:WW vids after that had me fairly excited about playing it.
This is coming from a gamer, not a dev right now =P. I personally had nothing to do with the creation of this game mode. So ignoring for a moment that I work for Treyarch, I can tell you this mode is the most addicting thing I've ever played in a game, imo. I'm not claiming this is better than any other game out there, but for me personally, I can't stop playing it.

The Co-Op experience is better than the SP Zombie experience for sure - there's just something about hearing your friends going "Crap, they're breaking in over here I need HELP!!!" and you rushing into the next room to see your friend getting overrun by zombies =P.

You see it briefly in the video, but you can re-board the windows with your money. This tactic is also crucial.... but it adds this distraction that can wind up being quite startling. Imagine looking out the window, boarding it up, you hear a moan from your left and as you turn there is a zombie in your FACE.

So as you said, that was definitely GTTV that coined the phrase for their headliner, but they weren't exaggerating any lol. If I were writing the tagline, I'd have written it just as boldly if not more. So much fun!

Welcome to the forums JD and thanks for posting

I too am hoping for exactly what you just said, i have played CSS zombie mod and that was some of the best fun i have ever had in an online game. Having a game actually developed to play with zombies will just make the experience even better.

Well, for PC, it's more than likely modders will create more maps for this game mode.

I'd be willing to bet KOTH is just HQ like it was in COD4

HQ in COD4 was identified by "koth" in the config files, just like TDM was "war" in the config (for some unknown reason).

Now that "War" is an actual game-type in COD:WW, I'm guessing TDM will be "tdm" in the config. I'd guess that "koth" will be the same HQ game-type from COD4...but it would be cool if it were an actual new game-type that we haven't seen yet.

Re: World at War GTTV Feature

"War" is listed as "twar" in the server variables, Unless there is a 'total war' gametype? As that's what the test beta servers gameservers.com had (the one that Crunch posted a link to: Game-Monitor site)

Though 'tdm' is listed as 'tdm' and not war... I'm sure I saw 'twar' - I know I posted all the gametypes that each server had, if I can find Crunch's post/my post again...

                            EDIT: Found it! here
