Day-1 Servers for the PC Multiplayer BETA

No, the PC beta is not out yet, BUT it is close! News update from Call of Duty Headquarters:

We are pleased to announce that in anticipation of the high demand for game servers day-1 of the PC Multiplayer BETA, we’ve joined forces with GameServers to provide a fleet of dedicated servers to be standing and at the ready the day-of the PC BETA release!

GameServers will have servers all around the globe for players to enjoy. Everyone should be able to find servers with great pings with the coverage we’ll have!

For anyone else interested in hosting servers, when the BETA is made available to the world to download, you can upload the files to your datacenters and run as many dedicated servers as you’d like. Hosting a CoD:WW server will not be too dissimilar to running a Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare server. Note that for the BETA, the servers will be Windows only. Linux servers will be available for the retail game.

We want to have as smooth of a day-1 kickoff as possible, and we hope that our combined forces will provide just that!

its gonna be friday. i can garuntee you that (Either friday or later) it would make sense to release it tomorrow since, servers are today game tomorrow? right make sense? but they will probably make some excuse. and then hey, its day 3 right, 3 is a lucky number.

I would prefer a single player demo to a beta. Especially since the AI is supposed to act differently in CoD:WW.

EDIT: just found these new posts by JD...

We're putting servers online and testing them as we speak. You'll all have your hands on this thing VERY soon (yes, it's been upgraded to "very").

The installer will be just under 1 GB.

COOL!! it's on it's way.:yay:.
The only 1 things I hope us PCers do NOT get is this auto select for the sides the damn 360 is like that even for CoD:4 can't pick what side you want to play on:dead:, I say the more option a MP has the more appealing it is for the player, but I think it will be like all the other CoD's PC MP were you can pick your side!?hope!!

Thanks for the extra info Whiskey. I move into my new house this Saturday, started packing tonight, and the internet is not at my new house yet...freakin' a, I can see what's gonna happen already after this whole wait... :cry:
