Xbox 360 BETA Update #1

Treyarch's community manager, JD, posted an update about the Xbox 360 beta over at Call of Duty: Headquarters forums:

Hey guys!

Just wanted to give you a heads-up, tomorrow's a big day. We have an update coming to the BETA that will introduce the following:

- Raise the level cap to 24 (new weapons, perks, and challenges)
- Introduce some Hardcore playlists
- Add a Search & Destroy playlist

As I mentioned in an earlier sticky, we have collected your feedback and are aware of some anomalies with the BETA. That feedback has been invaluable, and keep it coming. You may not see all the bug fixes tomorrow, but let it be known we're working tirelessly to make sure all the problems are fixed for release.

Also, check out GameTrailers for our new Multiplayer trailer. That trailer will be up on the front page of COD HQ later today!

Don't worry too much. Most of what they're finding on the Xbox360 right now are also being fixed behind the scenes on all 3 platforms.

Some of these bugs might be in the PC disc version right at the very start if there's not enough time to put them in before the discs go to print, but what this means is that they already have a head-start on the first patch.

There's always a plus side.

I dont know if I would call this a patch, its more of an "expansion". They opened up a little more probably for more testing.

I think it wa a good idea. If you opened up all that off the bat problems could get overlooked. Keep it small and people learn the maps really well and try things out better.

LOL @ Crowfoot. At least you have a sensible head. You should see the forums at the call of duty site. Its a mess.

If you mean the actual word "patch", then I agree, we don't hear that very often. But I think (I'm not 100% sure) I remember last year's COD4 Xbox360 Beta getting at least one "update" while it was on.

Wow, this is some complete cow manure! They get an update and still nothing. The PC version better be well worth the wait.

Also does anyone know how the Co-op is going to work? Do you need a server? Or is it LAN?

It doesn't really matter... a lot of copies have already been shipped overseas for distribution so it's a bit late for them ;o

Yeah, the game is on pre-order in the local game store in Thailand. If I coerce him, I might actually just get it right now...

Nah, it's still a bit early yet for that. But it is getting pretty late to make any major changes (fixes) to the code without incurring a fair bit of risk of possibly breaking something.
